Every year, unforeseen emergencies arise that were not anticipated by the funders of American Councils programs: dental emergencies, sudden illnesses of relatives, political upheavals in hometowns, and so on. There are no lines in our various budgets to cover the costs associated with helping participants cope with these situations. By contributing to the Participant Emergency Fund, you provide a sorely needed source of relief for participants faced with a sudden and costly emergency. The Fund is overseen by a Committee of American Councils employees representing all of our program areas, and is used to provide a portion of the funds a participant needs to meet an emergency.
Help someone far from home cope with an emergency they couldn’t anticipate. Please donate to American Councils’ Participant Emergency Fund.
